Sophia è nata a Pasadena, in California, dove inizia la sua carriera partecipando ad alcune rappresentazioni teatrali negli anni scolatici. Riceve inoltre la nomina di Regina di Rose di Pasadena.
Successivamente ottiene il suo primo ruolo in una commedia dove interpreta Sally, una ragazza del college che si innamora. Appare inoltre in “Point of Origin” e “Learning Curves”.
Ha avuto parti anche nel telefilm Nip/Tuck e in ”Sabrina The Teenage Witch”. Nei film ha partecipato a "Supercross","Stay Alive" e "John Tucker Must Die".
Ruolo molto importante è stato in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" del 2003 dove è stata sostituita in seguito perchè ritenuta troppo giovane per la parte. Actress:
