Pamela Reed nasce il 2 Aprile 1949 a Tacoma, Washington.
Fin da piccola ha avuto una grande passione verso la recitazione ma ha iniziato a prenderla come un lavoro non prima dei 30 anni.
Inizialmente infatti si era dedicata ai lavori riguardanti il gasdotto della Trans Alaska.
E' una donna molto apprezzata da tutto il pubblico internazionale e ciò è dovuto soprattutto ai vari ruoli interpretati durante la sua carriera.
Il suo debutto televisivo è dovuto alla serie TV "The Andros Targets" del 1978. Dopodiche la sua carriera è stata continuamente costellata da successi interpretando ruoli sia comici che drammatici.
Oltre al piccolo schermo ha partecipato anche a molti film. Attualmente è sposata dal 1988 con il regista Sandy Smolan.
