Yoon-jin Kim nasce a Seoul, in Corea del Sud, a 7 Novembre il 1973.
La sua grande fama nel continente asiatico è dovuta alla partecipazione nel film Shiri, di Kang Je-gyu.
Ovviamente grazie al telefilm Lost, Kim è riuscita ad affermarsi come attrice di livello internazionale.
La donna è nata in Corea del Sud ma fin da subito si è trasferita negli USA per dedicarsi agli studi di recitazione, inizialmente alla High School of the Performing Arts di New York e poi all'Università di Boston.
In seguito agli studi Kim viene notata e inizia così la sua carriera come attrice. successivamente arriva anche la proposta per il film "Shiri" che la rende celebre in tutto il contente americano.
Dopo alcune partecipazioni nel grande schermo asiatico, Kim è ritornata in America per il ruolo di Sun.
