Terrance Quinn nasce a Newberry, in Michigan, il 15 Luglio del 1952. Nonostante il vero successo dell'uomo sia arrivato solamente con il telefilm Lost, nei panni dell'avventuriero e credente John Locke, Terrance vanta un'ottima carriera che può benissimo vantare intorno alle cento apparizioni televisive e cinematografiche.
Terry O' Quinn nasce da genitori irlandesi e fin da piccolo coltiva la passione per l'arte, inizia a cantare e poi a suonare diventando un eccellente chitarrista cercando si seguire le orme del suo mito, Neil Young.
In seguito alla laurea all'Università di Iowa City, l'uomo diventa una guardia del corpo. Ormai arrivato a quasi 30 anni della sua vita, Terrance decide di dare una svolta nella sua vita: si da alla recitazione e ha il suo debutto con il drama "F.D.R. Ultimo anno".
Da li in poi inizierà con molti altri ruoli partecipando a film come: "I cancelli del cielo" e "Il patrigno".
La gavetta è in continuo avanzamento fino al momento del provino per il telefilm Lost nel 2004. E' proprio grazie a Lost che Terry ha potuto veramente affermarsi come attore e ricevere la notorietà che gli spettava.
