Becki Newton nasce a New Haven, Connecticut, il 4 Luglio 1978. La Newton iniziò la sua carriera, in seguito agli studi all'Università della Pennsylvania, con alcuni musical in teatri nella sua zona.
In seguito si trasferisce a New York dove ottiene alcuni ruoli per televisioni private. Nel 2005 celebra il suo matrimonio con Chris Diamantopoulos e un anno dopo prende a far parte del cast di "Ugly Betty".
